Steven Pinker is an experimental cognitive psychologist and bestselling author on language, mind, and human nature. A Montreal native, he earned his BA from McGill and PhD from Harvard, and has taught at Harvard, Stanford, and MIT.

A recipient of numerous scientific and literary awards, Pinker is Chair of the American Heritage Dictionary’s Usage Panel and a frequent contributor to The New York Times and Time. His current research explores language, common knowledge, writing, and human progress.
